Aregbesola Mourns Oyo Speaker Adeyemo, Imam Imam

Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has described the death of the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Michael Adeyemo and the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor of Sokoto, State, Mallam Imam Imam as colossal tragedies.

Governor Aregbesola, in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Mr. Sola Fasure, paid glowing tribute to Hon Adeyemo, whose sudden death was a rude shock to Oyo State and the country.

“He was hale and hearty, full of life, when last I saw him recently. He was his usual self, active, effervescent, exuding infectious enthusiasm. He will be missed

“Even though death signifies the final note in the unbroken melodies of human existence, the abrupt occurrence of Hon. Adeyemo’s death, turned the sweet melodies to a painful dirge.

“During his political career, he brought his deep convictions and discipline to regional, state and community levels and was ready to always offer his best to the development and stability of the state.

“The late lawmaker was a politician with a difference, whose major political ambition was to serve his people.

“He was a pillar in the political structure of Oyo and had used his office to better the lot of the people. Because of his understanding of the synergy between the executive and judiciary, he had cooperated and worked diligently with Governor Abiola Ajimobi in moving the state forward.

“He will be remembered for his unalloyed contributions to the politics and development of Oyo State.

“On behalf of the people and Government of Osun, I commiserate with the immediate and extended family of the deceased, Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Honourable members of Oyo State House of Assembly and the entire people of Oyo.

“I pray that God repose his gentle soul and give everyone concerned the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss”, Aregbesola stressed.

In a similar vein, Governor Aregbesola has offered his condolences to the Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, and the entire people of the state, on the death of his Media Adviser, Alhaji Imam Imam. Imam passed on at an Abuja Hospital at the unripe age of 44 and has been buried according to Islamic injunction.

“Death once again robbed the nation’s media family of a consummate journalist. However, Imam’s death was a devastating blow not only to the media but also to the government and people of Sokoto State. It is indeed a tragedy of huge proportion to have lost this fine journalist and manager of men. It is rather unfortunate that Imam would be lost this soon. We pray for the repose of his soul.

“On behalf of myself, government and people of Osun, we send our heart-felt condolences to Imam’s immediate and extended family, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, the Government of Sokoto State and Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ),” Aregbesola said.
