Aregbesola’s Valedictory Tour

It was galore of tributes to the Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as he embarked on tour of the nine federal constituencies in the state with a view to report his stewardship in almost eight years of his administration and mend walls among the teeming members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Although, the teeming party members and supporters were anxiously waiting for the party leadership to announce the suspension of ban on political activities in the state and pave way for the prospective aspirants to thronged the road with their aspirations.

However, rather than lift ban on political activities, the Governor embarked on political adventure to the nine federal constituencies across the state to reawaken political loyalty of members of the APC family, with a view to helping it win a reelection come September 22.

As the Governor Aregbesola-led political train birth in Ile-Ife, the mammoth crowd that thronged the Ife City hall, venue of the meeting further strengthen the believe that the Governor still enjoys the acceptance of the electorates, especially in Ile-Ife, perceived to be a no go area for the APC.

The governor deemed it fit to pay homage to the royal father, His Majesty Oba Enitan Ogunwusi in his palace. The love the number one citizen received in return was beyond description.

According to the monarch, “Aregbesola has been faithful on his promises to the people of Osun and this is because he is a God fearing man and I commend him for this. Osun has no doubt thrived and developed under the administration of Aregbesola and this I am so proud of.

He described the Osun governor as someone who has the fear of God, hence the good works and great achievements that has continued to trail the administration of Aregbesola.

The monarch while appealing to the people of Osun to continue to show support for the present government in Osun noted that the entire state had never had it so good in terms of infrastructural development.

Similarly, a representative of the APC elders’ caucus, Chief Sooko Adewoyin expressed  the happiness of the elders council towards the governor, saying  he has done what the elders have asked for in terms of developing the state from where the APC met it about seven and half years ago.

While urging party members to close ranks for the benefit of all, the elder statesman said standing by the principles of the party remains the only way Osun can progress and calling on all members to always put the growth of the state first.

Also, as the team headed to Ilesa, a crowd of supporters thronged the street to receive the governor while applauding him for all the good work he has done within the almost eight years of his administration in the state.

Various speakers at the Ilesa gathering eulogized and commended the achievements of the governor and stressed the need to further strengthen the unity in the party ahead of the September 22 poll with a view guaranteeing continuity of the party.

The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran said Aregbesola has done so well for Osun and deserves commendation from all angles especially on roads and school infrastructures.

The monarch said his works have always spoken for him, saying, Osun deserves another governor that would sustain the development and even improve on it after Aregbesola administration.
