Members of the Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, yesterday charged President Muhammadu Buhari to resist the temptation to sack the IGP saying that many were envious of Ibrihim Idris’s achievement in such a short time and will therefore look for any way possible to tarnish his image.
This was revealed in a statement by its National President, Alhaji Yerima Shettima to newsmen in Kaduna.
According to the statement the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, did not spend more than 24 hours in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, when he was ordered to relocate to the state.
The statement reads in part; “It has come to our notice that certain vested interests in the country are after the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, for selfish reasons.
“We wonder why those trying to set President Buhari against the IGP pretend that there is a difference between Makurdi and Benue. “
