Armed Robbers Attack Bullion Van, Shoot Police Officer

A bullion van was attacked by armed robbers around Emure-Ile junction, along the Akure/Owo Highway in Ondo state on Wednesday, injuring a police man in the process.

Ondo State Police Command, Public Relations Officer, DSP Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the attack, but said the robbers were unable to steal any funds as the bullion van was not carrying any cash when they struck.

The injured policeman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated at the moment.

A team of policemen have also been deployed to the area to apprehend the armed Robbers
