Armed Robbers Attack OAU SU President, Others

The President of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Students’ Union, Damilola Omoboriowo, was on Saturday, robbed at gunpoint while traveling from Abuja to Ife.
The incident happened around 1:00a.m on Saturday, December 21, 2024, along the Ilesa-Moro highway.
The robbers reportedly stopped the commercial bus Omoboriowo was traveling on, robbing him and others of their valuables.
The SU president however, escaped unhurt but lost his phone and had his bank account emptied.
The incident was confirming by the Students’ Union Public Relations Officer, Aka Daniel.

“When the incident happened, it was late in the midnight. I got to know as early as possible this morning,” Daniel said in a statement.
“I called him, but he said he cannot really share with us what really happened at the moment because it is not a discussion on phone.”
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of students traveling to and from the university.
