Gunmen on Thursday killed a Police Constabulary, Mr Jelili Aladeokin in a bank robbery in Iree, Boripe Local Government Area of the State of Osun.
The armed robbers who were said to be about 30 in number stormed the United Bank for Africa and Access Bank located around BHS, Iree around 3:45pm simultaneously.
Peace in the Iree student community was shattered as the armed robbers shot sporadically to disperse students and customers at the banks.
According to eye witnesses who spoke to OSUN DEFENDER, the murdered Aladeokin, popularly called “Kay”, was the only police officer killed in the attack.
The eye witnesses said the armed robbers operated for about 30-minute, carting away cash from the banks.
It was gathered that the men of the underworld snatched a car while escaping through Ada Road.
