Troops of the Nigerian Army in Bauchi State have arrested four suspected cattle rustlers in Yayari village in the Ningi local government area of the state.
PUNCH learnt that the suspects, Musa Mohammed, Magaji Isyaka, Jao Musa, and Nura Bello, were nabbed by troops of 33 Artillery Brigade, which were participating in the ongoing military operation, Lafiya Dole.
It was gathered that the suspects, who were arrested on Tuesday, confessed to have stolen two cows and sold one to a runaway buyer, identified as Alhaji Ado.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen Texas Chukwu, who confirmed the arrest of the rustlers, said efforts were ongoing to arrest Alhaji Ado and other suspects involved in the cattle rustling business.
“We are presently making efforts to trail Alhaji Ado and other suspects and to put an end to this dirty business,” he added.
