With effect from next week, officers and men of the Nigeria Army will be dressing in their plain green jackets on Mondays and Fridays.

This was contained in a signal, sent to all Army units and formation across the country.

The directive is coming barely three months after Mr Ibrahim Attahiru, a lieutenant general, assumed office as the Chief of Army Staff.

The new directive is part of the restructuring being undertaken by the new army leadership.

Shortly after assuming office, the army chief approved the redeployment of 204 of its officers to new formations across the country.

Mode of Dressing, as from next week, all officers and soldiers are to dress in their plain green jacket on Mondays and Fridays. The dress is popularly known as “number four dress” in the army.

The number four dress, a four pockets jacket, a short-sleeved suit, is popularly known as safari. It is worn with a peak cap, often.
