Arrested NANS National Leaders Regain Freedom

The arrested national leaders of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have been released.

Recall that OSUN DEFENDER had earlier reported that the operatives of the police in Lagos had on Wednesday morning arrested NANS National PRO, Giwa Temitope, Femi Adeyeye and other student leaders who are yet to be identified.

It was gathered that the student leaders were were on Wednesday, arrested at the University of Lagos Junction while protesting a fee hike at the institution.

They were arrested by policemen and put in a police van stationed in the area.

Meanwhile, while speaking with our correspondent in a telephone interview, the NANS Osun Chairman, Ogungbe Taiwo confirmed to our correspondent that the arrested NANS leaders have been released.

He said, “Yes they have been released. One of them just posted on his status to thank everyone for his release.”

Also, the NANS Southwest PRO, Bamigboye Damilola confirmed to our correspondent in a telephone interview that the arrested student leaders have been released.
