Atiku’s Resignation Familiar Pattern, Will Return Soon – PDP Chair
Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iliya Damagum, has described the resignation of its 2023 Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, from the party is a familiar pattern, noting that the former Vice President will soon return to the PDP.
Damagun stated this on Friday at the Government House, Bauchi, while responding to questions from journalists on the exit of Atiku and others from the party.
He said that the party seems to be taking a wait-and-see approach and expecting Atiku to potentially return in the future.
“Well it is expected because this is not the first time, and I don’t think it will be the last time. We are still expecting him any moment from now,” Damagum said.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that Atiku resigned from the PDP on Wednesday in a letter addressed to the Chairman of Jada 1 Ward in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State,
He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for his exit from the PDP.
The former Vice President also expressed disappointment with the current direction of the party, which he said had strayed from the vision and principles upon which it was founded.
