Attack on Adeleke: Omisore’s Invitation Is In Order – Osun Govt.

The State Government of Osun has said that the invitation of former Deputy Governor, Senator Iyiola Omisore and some other suspects by the State police command is in order.
This resolution was reached after the deliberation at the end of Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday presided over by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
A statement by the governor’s media adviser, Mr. Sola Fasure said it is important to bring the case of assault on late Senator Isiaka Adeleke to a logical conclusion notwithstanding his demise.
The statement stated that, “Council was briefed on the invitation extended by the police to suspects who were alleged to have assaulted the former governor of the State of Osun, late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, in an Osogbo hotel in 2014. We posited that the invitation is in order, agreeing that we are a society of law and order. That a crime was committed three years ago and the victim has passed on does not mean that justice cannot be served or that a criminal should escape justice.”
However, the Council also commiserated with the National leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu over the demise of his son, Jide Tinubu who died yesterday.
The Council which also deliberated on other sundry issues in the state Council expressing satisfaction on concession of MKO Abiola International Airport, Ido Osun, to All Works of Life Development Organisation (AWOL International Limited).
It was further stated that, the Council received report on the concession of the project and urged all the parties to do everything possible to deliver the first phase on or before the eight months envisaged in the agreement.
According to the Council, All Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government managing and carrying out economic intervention programmes in which an individual benefits to the tune of N100,000=00 and above, to bring all such individuals into the state’s tax net for the purpose of collecting tax from them. This will exclude the cadets of Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme (OYES) and beneficiaries of Agba Osun.
