The Vice Chairman, Ayedaade South Local Council Development Area, Orile-Owu, High Chief Sikiru Oyeyemi has been installed as the Otunba of Araromi-Owu land.
The Olowu-in-Council approved the nomination and installation recently, which took place at the market square, the heart of the town.
Oyeyemi was born into the royal family of Pa (Alhaji) Yussuf Ayoola Oyeyemi and Madam Amudat Oyeyemi (Iya Elepo) both of blessed memory, of Ejemu’s Compound, Orile-Owu, Ayedaade Local Government Area of the State of Osun.
Oyeyemi attended St. Peter’s Anglican Primary School, Orile-Owu and The Apostolic modern School, Orile-Owu for his primary and post primary education respectively. He later proceeded to The Polytechnic Ibadan.
He later joined politics and served as Councilor representing Ward 11, in the then Ayedaade Local Government Gbongan, under the administration of Hon. Olusola Adebisi from 2004-2007. He is a grassroot politician, a great businessman, and philanthropist. He is the Chairman, Managing Director, Adebayo Golden profile filling station both at Araromi Owu and Orile Owu.
He is also the Managing Director, Opeyemi Produce store Araromi-Owu, and he is currently the Vice-Chairman, Ayedaade South LCDA Orile Owu.
Other chiefs installed alongside with him were, Chief Mathew Oladokun as Balogun Araromi-Owu, Chief Rasheed Ajayi Bababunmi as Ejemu of Araromi-Owu, Chief Ganiyu Lawal Fasona as Ekarun of Araromi Owu.
Among the dignitaries that graced the occasion were the Executive Chairman, Ayedaade South LCDA, Hon. Azeez Quadri; Leader of the parliament, Hon. (Mrs.) Sola Ogunfolaju; other parliamentarians; Council Manager, Mr. A. Adewusi, among others.
