Chairman, Ayedire Local Government Council Area of Osun, Mr Mukaila Oladejo has called on the state and federal governments to assist in the construction of Kuta/Ikoyi- Ede Road, particularly the construction of bridge on Osun river.
He made the plea while supervising the bulldozing and grading of Kuta/Ikoyi – Ede road to be terminated at Osun river under the statewide road grading project directed by Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Oladejo said, “We have embarked on road grading of some roads in Ayedire local government and Kuta/Ikoyi – Ede road, which is one of them was given attention with cooperation of our royal fathers.
“We were able to bulldoze the road down to Odo Osun and cleared the face and surroundings of the two Pillars that our fore fathers were able to erect with their contributions.
“Our people are yearning for intervention to be able to cross this Osun river to other side of Ede, and we are calling for help from state and federal governments, as well as individuals to assist us in this long year project”.
Beside this, the council boss noted that many other roads have been graded by the council management in line with the directive of the governor.
He then appealed to the people of the council to support the government through payment of necessary taxes so that more of such developmental projects would be embarked upon.
