The time has come for the full manifestation of the dreams of the founding fathers of two world-standard markets in Osogbo, as the state Commissioner for Trade and Cooperatives, Rev’d Bunmi Jenyo has vowed the commitment of the Senator Ademola Adeleke-led administration to revamp and revive operations of the Ayegbaju and Aje International Markets to their full swing.
Speaking on a live weekly audience-participating magazine programme, Èrò Yà on Sunday morning on the state-owned broadcasting outfit, OSBC, monitored by Osun Defender, Jenyo applauded the initiative of the founding governor of the two markets, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, calling on hirers of lock-up shops, stalls, and other outlets in the international markets to open up their units for daily operations.
While hammering on the Adeleke administration’s avowed commitment to give priority attention to providing incentives to investors and industrialists to operate in the state, Jenyo enumerated the state-of-the-art features of the two markets, which he assured would begin to be utilised to full capacity henceforth. According to the commissioner, the features include shopping malls, market complexes, security posts, banks, conveniences, and all the rest.
Jenyo, fielding questions from callers on the programme, assured the administration’s commitment to improving statuses, scopes and ranges of operation of virtually all markets in the state; assuring ample enabling environment and supportive assistance to traders and artisans in the state.
He rallied the cooperation of all and sundry in actualising the administration’s mandate of pushing Osun beyond its current outlook to a highly industrialised and market-based structure for the prosperity of all.
