Former military head of State, General Ibrahim Babagida, has urged Federal government to look into the current high cost of food and shelter among Nigerians.
Babagida who said no nation can survive when human necessities are on the rise while the income of many are gradually declining.
He made the admonition on his verified twitter handle, @General_Ibbro, on Monday sighted by Osun Defender Correspondent.
The tweet reads, “I urge the federal government to look into the current high cost of foods and shelter among Nigerians; no nation can survive when human necessity are on the rise while the income of many are gradually declining.
“Until a Nigerian citizen exercising his/her peaceful protest is not scared of being arrested, harassed or disrupted by any security operative or a government official; the work of Nigeria’s democracy is not complete.
‘The safety of lives, properties, security and wellbeing of every Nigerian should be paramount to every administration”. he stated.
