Leon Balogun may make his first start for Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday when the Seagulls take on Liverpool at Anfield, especially if Lewis Dunk’s injury is serious enough to still keep him out of the team.
Brighton manager, Chris Hughton, is happy that the Nigeria international played at a good level against Manchester United, justifying his signing in the summer.
The 30 year old came in for the Lewis Dunk who copped an ankle injury in the 20th minute of the match to help Brighton secure a 3-2 win over Jose Mourinho’s side last Sunday.
The win was Brighton’s first of the season.
“Leon Balogun has made a good impression from the first day, he’s played at a good level and Sunday wouldn’t have fazed him. He’s taken it in his stride and it’s the reason we brought him in,” Hughton revealed during his pre-match interview on Thursday.
“We have to defend well on Sunday but also be a threat ourselves. We’ll need good periods in the game and will have to take advantage of those.”
