Soldiers have successfully foiled a ransom collection attempt by bandits in Kaduna, rescuing four abducted victims in the process.
The bandits, who were trying to collect N1.5 million in ransom, were killed by the troops at Mai-Iddo village in Kachia Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.
A community leader confirmed the incident on Tuesday, stating that the troops had arranged with the person dropping off the ransom and a vigilante to ambush the bandits.

When the bandits arrived to collect the ransom, the troops opened fire, killing two of them instantly.
The four abducted victims, consisting of three females and a child, were rescued and reunited with their families.
The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
