Osun Baptist Church of Nigeria, has commended the government of the state on Education Reform and Infrastructural Development in the state.
The commendation came when the Emmanuel Parish of the church honoured the Permanent Secretary, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Fatai Kolawole with an award of excellence in public service and 15 others including the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The award conferment ceremony which took place at the church auditorium located at the back of John Mackey Elementary School, Oke-Ayepe, Osogbo, the state capital on Sunday had in attendance people from all walks of life including royal fathers, head of federal and state government agencies and parastatals among many others.
The presiding Pastor of the church, Reverend Olu Akande, said the Osun SUBEB PS is a perfect definition of modesty who relates with both the old and the young and has used his position to better lives of many through his rare generosity and kindness to all and sundry.
The clergyman said, “Character molding and preparation for global challenges,leadership roles and virtuous ethos in Osun SUBEB under the leadership of Alhaji Fatai Kolawole marked out Osun basic education programmes from her peers in the federation”.
He then lauded the series of innovation and initiatives including the far reaching reforms the government of the Osun has introduced in the education sector in the state, saying, the consistent brilliant performance of the state in public examinations has vindicated the Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration that those reforms and unprecedented infrastructural development were working well.
Responding, Kolawole said Osun stands tall among its peers in the education sector, particularly at the basic level, saying the successes recorded was as a result of the ingenuity of Aregbesola’s administration.
He said, the administration has laid a solid foundation for the education development in the state and there is a guarantee that the trend will continue after the tenure of Ogbeni Aregbesola.
