Bauchi Governor Fires Five Commissioners, Nominates Eight

 

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has dismissed five commissioners from his cabinet as part of a restructuring to improve governance.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado.

According to the statement, the decision aligns with the governor’s vision of addressing emerging challenges and injecting fresh ideas into his administration.

The commissioners affected by the reshuffle are Dr. Jamila Dahiru, Commissioner for Education; Barr. Abubakar Abdulhameed Bununu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs; Comrade Usman Danturaki, Commissioner for Information and Communication; Professor Simon Madugu Yalams, Commissioner for Agriculture; and Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza, Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.

Governor Mohammed expressed his appreciation for their dedication and contributions to the development of Bauchi State, emphasizing that their efforts had significantly supported the state’s policies and initiatives.

The Governor forwarded the names of eight nominees to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as new commissioners.

Isa Babayo Tilde from Toro Local Government, Abdullahi Mohammed from Misau Local Government, Dr. Bala Musa Lukshi from Dass Local Government, Usman Usman Shehu from Shira Local Government, Iliyasu Aliyu Gital from Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Prof. Titus Saul Ketkukah from Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin from Darazo Local Government, and Dr. Mohammed Lawal Rimin Zayam from Toro Local Government.

Governor Mohammed described the cabinet reshuffle as a routine measure to strengthen his administration’s performance and ensure better service delivery for the people of Bauchi State.
