Bauchi Speaker Abubakar Sulaiman has finally defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Speaker, whose loyalty to the APC has been questioned on several occasions by his former party members, announced the decision at a Ramadan Iftar dinner hosted by Governor Bala Mohammed on Saturday night.
It was gathered that Abubakar emerged as Bauchi Speaker with the backing of some PDP members, which made him fall out with some of his colleagues in APC.
Sulaiman who doubles as the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria said his decision to decamp the PDP was in recognition of the exemplary leadership style of Governor Mohammed and his commitment to transforming the State.
