Nigerians on social media have berated Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State for congratulating the winner of the Big Brother Naija All Stars Season Reality Show, Ilebaye Odiniya.
Bello, in a statement issued by his media aide, Onogwu Mohammed, said her victory in the show, which ended on Sunday, confirmed her brilliance, perseverance and humility.
The governor described Ilebaye as a true trendsetter and Kogi’s pride and a beacon of inspiration and motivation to other youths, not only in the state but across Nigeria.
He acknowledged Ilebaye as the face of a positive revolution in the history of African entertainment, not only for the youth of Kogi but for Nigeria, Africa, and the global community.
Reacting to the development, some netizens took to social media to condemn the governor for congratulating Ilebaye and failing to respond to complaints of bad roads and matters affecting the masses in the state.

“If we will become relevant in the League of Nations anytime in the future, our priority must be set. Milestones to achieving societal goals must be clear. The citizens indulged; and applauded as we reached them.
BBN is a simple entertainment event with no intellectual or societal advancement purpose. Any governor that gives voice to it lack’s intellectual capacity to propel their state to a possible good outcome.”
