A lawmaker representing Ayedaade State Constituency in the State of Osun House of Assembly, Hon Akin Taiwo has challenged Youths to engage in sporting activities just as he urged them to be creative by thinking outside the box in their endeavours.
Hon. Taiwo, a member, House of Assembly Committee on Sports and Youth Development said this in his office at the House of Assembly complex in Osogbo during a chat.
The parliamentarian noted that for Youth to thrive, they must be creative, noting that the 2018 International Youth Day themed: ‘Safe Place’ means having a safe and conducive environment for Youths to excel, saying the State Government had created opportunities for youth through various intervention programmes.
According to him, Osun government believes so much in youth, who according to him, are the future of Nigeria, adding that their numerical strength put at about 60% of the country’s population means that they are a group of people that cannot be toyed with at all.
“The Government has the love and interest of youth at heart and that is why the Youth parliament initiative is set up to build leadership among them” he added.
The lawmaker advised youth population to engage in sports which will guide them in the right direction and exposed them to Western World.
