Black Market Dollar To Naira Exchange Rate Today May 24, 2026
The US Dollar (USD) to Nigerian Naira (NGN) official exchange rate is trading at approximately ₦1,370 to ₦1,375, while the parallel (black) market rate sits closely between ₦1,395 and ₦1,400 per dollar.
Because May 24, 2026 falls on a Sunday, official windows like the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) are closed, leaving rates pegged to the last official closing figures recorded on Friday.
Official NFEM Rate: The latest Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data locked the closing formal trade rate at ₦1,375.46.
Parallel (Black) Market Rate: Street-level Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in commercial hubs like Lagos and Abuja quote retail buying at roughly ₦1,395 and selling around ₦1,397 to ₦1,400.
The Spread: The premium gap between both markets remains tight at roughly ₦20 to ₦25, kept low by aggressive CBN interest rate structures (held at 26.50%) and rising foreign reserves.
