Bobrisky: CDCFIB Suspends Erring Officers

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has suspended some officers of the agencies over alleged infractions on the matter relating to popular cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye (Bobrisky).

Osun Defender had reported that a social media influencer, Martins Otse, a.k.a Verydarkman, had on Tuesday night released a voice note in which Bobrisky claimed to have served his sentence in a private apartment.

Bobrisky, in the voice note, also claimed to have given some officers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission N15m to bribe his way out of the money laundering charge against him.

The suspended officers, according to a statement signed by the secretary to the Board, Jaโ€™afaru Ahmed, includes, Senior Officers of the Service – Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC) In-Charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State; and
ii. Sikiru Adekunle, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), In-Charge of Maximum-Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State.

The board also announced the suspension of one ASC II Ogbule Samuel Obinna, serving at the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Afikpo, Ebonyi State, who allegedly accompanied a convicted inmate out of the Custodial Centre to a location outside the facility.

Similarly, the Board suspended another Senior Officer of the Service, Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), in charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kuje-Abuja, for allegedly receiving monies on behalf of an inmate.

Ahmed, in the statement, said the suspension of the Officers is to allow for further investigation on the various allegations while assuring that the outcome would be made public when concluded.
