Boko Haram Abducts Nigerian Army University Professor, Others In Borno
A Professor at the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB), Abubakar Eljuma, and several other passengers have been kidnapped along the Damaturu-Biu road in Borno State by suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists.
The attack occurred near Kamuya village, about 10km from Buratai, the hometown of former Chief of Army Staff, Yusufu Tukur Buratai.
According to Vanguard, Professor Eljuma, who serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at NAUB and was a strong contender for the institution’s Vice-Chancellor position, was among those taken.
Following the incident, the university’s management reportedly convened an emergency meeting to address the situation.

The area has witnessed repeated kidnappings, bomb attacks, and killings over the past decade.
On March 2, suspected ISWAP/Boko Haram insurgents hijacked two Golf cars and a Borno Express bus on the Damaturu-Biu road, abducting an unspecified number of travellers.
While female passengers were later released, the male captives, including Professor Eljuma, remain in captivity.
A source called for prayers, saying, “We request your prayers in this holy month of Ramadan for their quick release.”
