Boko Haram Attacks Leaves Six Dead In Adamawa Villages
At least six people have been killed following coordinated attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in Adamawa State.
The terrorists struck on Tuesday, targeting both security personnel and civilian areas in Banga and neighbouring Larh villages.
Chairman of Hong Local Government Council, Usman Wa’aganda, confirmed the casualties, stating that two men and a woman were killed in Banga.
In Larh, three more people, including a local vigilante, died after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by the attackers exploded.
“The terrorists stormed the villages, planting IEDs aimed at both security personnel and civilians,” a local source told Sahara Reporters.
Residents are alarmed by the renewed violence, especially as the farming season approaches.
“We are gripped with fear. How can we go to the farms when these terrorists are back?” one resident lamented.
In another related incident, explosives targeted a police patrol van in Garaha, but the officers managed to evacuate before the blast occurred.
The attacks have heightened fears across the region, especially in neighbouring Borno State, where Governor Babagana Umara Zulum recently warned that Boko Haram may be regaining lost territories.
