Boko Haram Under Intense Pressure From Nigeria Air Force
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar has commended the men of the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force Yola, for their gallantry and efforts in the ongoing war against insurgency, which has led to the degrading of Boko Haram insurgency in the North East.
He noted that the suicide bombing and kidnappings showed that the battle ground was too hot for the insurgents hence their attacks on soft targets.
Abubakar, who spoke during an operational briefing with men of the Tactical Air Command in Yola, Adamawa State, also lauded their efforts in maintenance and logistics support which ensured that Nigerians in the North East lived in a secure and safe environment and were able to go about their normal businesses.
“The Nigerian Air Force has expended slightly about 9,000 flying hours in its flight operations in the fight against terrorism in North East in the last two years.
“The success of the operation would not have been possible without the gallantry and dedication of the men of the Nigerian Air Force,” Abubakar said.
He urged the men to redouble their efforts in order to sustain the progress made in the war against insurgency in the region.
The Air chief said it would persist in the training and retraining of the Air Force personnel to ensure the insurgents were completely decimated.
