Nigerians and South Africans are reportedly at loggerheads over a string of fake ride orders on the popular transportation platform, Bolt.
Nigerians claim South Africans have been ordering Bolt rides in Nigeria from South Africa, only to cancel them once the driver arrives at the pick-up location,
They allegedly justify this by saying Nigeria’s currency is weak, and they can afford paying cancellation fees.
Some have even hinted at reporting fake crimes to police lines next.
In response, Nigerians have launched a counterattack, placing fake orders and requesting pay-on-delivery items to inconvenience South Africans.

The escalating situation has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many Nigerians vowing to outdo their South African counterparts in pettiness.
One user on X said, “South Africans think they’re petty, but they weren’t informed. Nigerians Arise! Bolt for Bolt.”
Another commented, “They don’t realize we have the numbers, time, and resources to be petty. If they mess with a few Lagos drivers, we’ll make all of South Africa feel it.”
Another person added, “I don’t think there’s any country on this continent that can outdo Naija in pettiness.”
