Boripe North LCDA Chair Buried Amidst Tears, Eulogies

The remains of Prince Bola Adejumo, the first Executive Chairman, Boripe North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) was last Saturday laid to rest amidst tears and eulogies from family members, friends, colleagues and associates.
He was buried at his home town, Ororuwo exactly 12:40 pm.
Upon hearing the sorrowful dirge by undertakers as the procession made its way to Ororuwo town, the country home of the late politician early in the morning, women wailed and men gnashed their teeth as they tried to keep tears away.
Hundreds who could no longer bottle their emotions burst into tears as the white casket laid and mourners filed past. It was a horrible day for the people of Ororuwo and Boripe North LCDA.
A great tremor overtook the environment while people watching the widow and three children of the deceased who could not hold their heartbreak watching the remains of their father lowering to the depth of the grave, struggled effortlessly to stop the undertakers, grief poured out in a flood of uncontrollable tears.
Adejumon, 59, died exactly 11.45 Pm late Wednesday night at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, Jolayemi, Osogbo after a brief illness.
According to family sources, Adejumon few days ago complained of body weakness and was admitted to the hospital during the week and even received visitors, interact and cracked jokes before he answered eternal call penultimate Wednesday night.
Speaking during the burial, Commissioner for Local Government, Barrister Kolapo Alimi on behalf of Governor Rauf Aregbesola condoled with Alawode family in Ororuwo, Boripe LCDA , APC family in the state describing the death as a colossal loss to the state.
He said Osun has lost a responsible leaders and Ororuwo town has lost a pillar who is passionate about the development of the community and the council area at large.
Alimi said “It is pathetic that we lost Prince Adejumo, we have many characters in politics, but he has exceptional quality, he is a likeable individual, cool, calm and collected, and love his community to the heart”, Alimi said.
Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Dr Peter Babalola, said though, the death of Adejumo was painful and untimely but the consolation is that he died in Christ.
He said “God knows everything, few days ago, he came to our office, we were cracking jokes, he was my friend for a very long time, but when I was called, I told that person to keep shut and stop saying nonsense, but few minutes later, the reality dawn on me that Adejumo is no more. The lesson and the question we should ask ourselves is that how will people celebrate you, when you are in this position?”
Member, Federal House of Representatives, Hon Adeyinka Ajayi described Adejumo as honest, dependable and a reliable political ally who placed honour and integrity above any other consideration.
Adejumon was born in 1959 and attended the Polytechnic Ibadan for the Higher National Diploma (HND). A Chartered Accountant, he worked as Deputy Controller Finance with Adekanola chartered Accountants before he ventured into politics.
He contested for the State House of Assembly in 2007, 2011 and 2015 and equally served as the Secretary, Elders Caucus of All Progressive Congress (APC) since 2007, before he became the pioneer executive chairman of Boripe LCDA, the position he held until his death.
Adejumon was happily married to Bukola Adejumon and blessed with Children.
Other dignitaries at the burial include Special Adviser to the Governor on Tax Matter, Barrister Olugenbga Akano, Member, Local Government Services Commission, Mr Kehinde Olamolu, Osun State Broadcasting Cooperation Interim Chairman, Mr Kola Akanji, Council Chairmen, APC Chieftains among others.
