Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has urged residents to participate in a voluntary fast on Monday to seek Allah’s guidance amid the state’s security challenges.

Speaking in a statewide broadcast on Saturday, he said that coming together in prayer and fasting can strengthen faith and provide relief to the community.

He encouraged citizens to stay calm, patient, and united during these difficult times.

Governor Zulum noted that the fast is meant to bring people together in prayer, asking for divine intervention to ease the difficulties facing both Borno State and the nation.

He said, “On this day, I call upon every resident of Borno State, regardless of faith, to join in prayer for the lasting peace and prosperity of our beloved state and Nigeria. Consequently, let us therefore devote ourselves to constant prayers, seeking Almighty God’s mercy.”

He assured the public of his administration’s commitment to maintaining security, stability, and the welfare of residents, emphasising the importance of patience.

The governor also called on religious and community leaders to support the initiative, recalling the historical impact of collective prayers in Borno.

He further promised that farmers would receive resources to improve agricultural production.
