The Governing Council of the Bowen University, Iwo, State of Osun has appointed Professor Joshua Ogunwole as the new Vice- Chancellor of the University established by Nigeria Baptist Convention.
Professor Ogunwole, who is a professor of Soil Science, was appointed from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State. He succeeded Prof. Mathew Ojo, whose five years tenure has expired.
According to a statement made available to OSUN DEFENDER correspondent in Osogbo, the new Vice-Chancellor who was unveiled during a service at the University Chapel promised to lift the standard of the Private University from where he met it.
The new Vice-Chancellor said the University would not relent on its efforts in producing Godly and competent leaders who would transform every sector in the country and other part of the world.
He said, “Bowen University is a Christian institution of higher learning with Excellence and Godliness as motto. It has a mission to bring forth the next generations of leaders with Godliness, high performance, discipline and stronger ethical character, we cannot fail God.”
