Arsenal have sacked Manager Unai Emery,
Emery’s sack was announced on Friday after speculations grew in wake of Arsenal’s 1-2 Europa league loss on Thursday.
The former coach was sacked after a disappointing start to the season, 18 months after succeeding Arsene Wenger.
His departure follows a run of seven games without a win, a 2-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League last night proving to be his last game.
Results and performances had not been “at the level required”, the club said, adding the search for a replacement was “underway”.
The Spaniard, 48, was appointed at the end of the 2017-18 season, but was unable to get the side back into the Premier League, finishing fifth last season and losing the Europa League final to Chelsea.
Former midfielder Freddie Ljungberg will take charge on an interim basis.
