Big Brother Naija reality star Rico Swavey has died after a ghastly car accident.
Fellow reality star Alex Asogwa better known as Alex Unusual confirmed this in a Twitter post today.
She wrote, “This was not what we agreed Rico. Rest In Peace #ricoswavey.”
Another Big Brother Naija star Tobi Bakre also confirmed the shocking death in an Instagram post on Thursday morning.
Tobi shared a photo on Instagram displaying one of the happy moments he shared with the deceased.
Captioning the photo he wrote, “This is how I will always remember you. Rest in peace my brother. Thanks for all your donations and care. God knows best.”
OSUN DEFENDER gathered that Rico was hospitalised on Tuesday 11 October after the accident.
Alex who first announced the tragic news on Twitter, also called for prayers.
She wrote, “Good morning sweethearts. Please put @iamricoswavey in your prayers today. He was involved in a ghastly accident hours ago and the doctors are still trying to resuscitate him as I just left the hospital. It’s really critical. I’m staying positive.”
Confirming the accident in a Twitter post on Wednesday, Rico’s management stated that the 29-year-old was in critical condition.
The tweet reads, “Hello everyone, Rico Swavey is not disposed to handle his socials right now as he was involved in a ghastly accident and is currently on life support. While his situation is critical and doctors are on him, We implore your support and prayers.”
The management also shared a video of the accident scene involving a white car and an 18-seater bus. The car was seriously damaged.
Born Patrick Fakoya, Rico Swavey contested in the third edition of the reality show in 2018.
