Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife on Tuesday morning stormed the premises of the Osun State High court sitting in Ede demanding the unconditional release of the former Acting Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof Anthony Elujoba from EFCC custody.
The students who carried placards with several inscriptions chanting several songs in solidarity with their former VC who is currently facing financial misappropriation charges.
The students who chanted several songs threatened to bring down the court in fire if the suspect is not allowed to speak with them.
The presiding judge who had earlier agreed to let Prof Elujoba address the protesting students later withdrew his order because of the unfavorable atmosphere in the court premises.
The judge, however, urged the police to be vigilant as the law enforcers tried to reinforce.
As at the time of filing this report, the hearing of the matter is at a crossroad with students pledging to hold on to their stand.
