The Supreme Court has ruled that the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the Peoples Democratic Party is the authentic executive of the party.
Ahmed Makarfi of the PDP has been at logged head with the Alimodu Sheriff faction who recently won at the Appeal court.
In a short ruling on the application, a five-member panel led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, said the application by Ahmed. Makarfi was considered valid since it complied with the rules of the Supreme Court.
It would be recalled that the resolution of Ahmed Makarfi caretaker committee was ratified during the Portharcourt convention which likewise dissolved Alimodu Sheriff-led NWC and the party has since then submerged in crisis.
