The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs on Monday announced that Ramadan in Nigeria will commence on Tuesday, April 13.
The announcement was made by the NSCIA President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, in a broadcast.
The fasting month of Ramadan will also start on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia and most Arab countries.
Other Arab countries who have also announced that Ramadan will start on Tuesday include Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, atar, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, and Egypt.
The Ramadan season sees Muslims abstain from eating, drinking from dawn to sunset.
