Unknown gunmen on Sunday abducted a Professor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife at the Ikire end of the Ife/Ibadan expressway.
The university don identified as Prof Adegbehingbe was waylaid by his abductors few minutes to 9pm on his way to Ife.
His wife who was with him in the car during the incident, explained that vehicles on the busy expressway had to stop while others turned back as the men wielding sophisticated weapons blocked a section of the road.
As at the time of filing in this report, the Police is yet to confirm the incident.
