“Brighter Future Await Generations In Kwara”

The Kwara State Government will ensure quality education that guarantees brighter future for younger generations of children irrespective of political differences, religion or tribe.

This was made known by the state Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq at the launch of a book written by a broadcast journalist, ‘Lest We Forget’: Kwara Political Revolutions by Aminah Salako Adekunle of Harmony FM, ldofian in Ilorin.
Abdulrazaq represented by his Special Adviser on Strategy, Mallam Saadudeen Salaudeen stressed that Kwara deserved nothing more than the best in terms of provision of quality health, education, infrastructural projects among others due to the long term neglect from past administrations.

The Governor said that the O’Toge movement represents the people’s wisdom to enthrone a government that would change the state narrative  from the better to the best stressing that all the stakeholders who played key roles in the movement needs to be celebrated.                                                                                                            Earlier,  a renowned media technocrat and Director, Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr. Kunle Akogun,  who reviewed the book encouraged journalists and media outfits to avoid every form of political partisanship in the discharge of their duties.

Akogun noted that it was very important for programme presenters and management of media outfits to ensure that they lived above board in their political reportage and presentations.

He added that the society expected journalists and managers of news outfits to use the positions of trust they hold with neutrality and maturity and at all times, saying that they must avoid any situation where their neutrality and professionalism would be called to question.

The media practitioner insisted that the onus lies on all the media stations to provide level playing grounds for all registered political parties to reach out to the people particularly during electioneering.

He added that giving all registered political parties equal opportunities was not only the least expected of a public owned media station but also a basic requirement,which is tantamount to display of justice, equity and fairness.”

While speaking on the book, the author, Aminah Salako Adekunle explained that she wrote the book based on her experience as a journalist who saw the struggle of the people to liberate themselves .

Adekunle said that society and generations would learn one or two things from the past to prepare for a better futures which she noted would serve as a template for the ruling class to prepare better welfare programmes.
