Buhari’s Personal Photographer Shares His Story

This is an inspiring story of the young man Bayo Omoboriowo who went from hawking to becoming President Muhammadu Buhari’s official photographer. Almost everyone has a grass-to-grace story to tell especially when they have struggled against all odds to succeed. Such is the case of Omoboriowo who has gone on to become the official photographer to the number one citizen of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Bayo’s story tells of him going from being a pure water hawker to that coveted position of the official photographer of the president, which means he’ll get to follow the president to most of his official assignments (isn’t that awesome?)

In video shared by celebrity photographer, T.Y Bello, President Buhari’s personal photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, shared stories of how he hawked sachet water otherwise known as pure water at a market in Mushin, just to make some money for his family. The throwback photo on the left is him holding his first professional camera in 2011.

“Yes I hawked pure water in Mushin, Ojuwoye market. They were calling me Bayo pure water because i shout Buy your pure water and so they called me Bayo pure water. This was when I was still in primary school. At a point I was ashamed because I would see my schoolmates and their parents driving them home after school”he said
