The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Disciplinary Board has taken decisive action against several teams and football federations for misconduct, security lapses, and fan disturbances during the recent TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Qualifiers and CAF Interclub Competition.

According to the details provided on the CAF website dated December 29, the disciplinary actions reflect CAF’s commitment to maintaining order and upholding the integrity of its tournaments.
The Board’s rulings, according to the release, were said to be aimed at curbing disruptive behaviour and reinforcing security standards across participating nations and clubs.

Equatorial Guinea faced charges for failing to provide adequate security during their AFCON 2025 Qualifiers match against Togo on November 14, 2024, in Malabo.
The Disciplinary Board found Equatorial Guinea guilty and issued a suspended fine of USD 25,000, alongside an additional USD 5,000 penalty due to pitch invasions by supporters.
The Libyan Football Federation was penalized for supporter and official misconduct during their AFCON 2025 Qualifiers clash with Benin in Benghazi on November 18, 2024.
Citing violations of Articles 82 and 151 of the CAF Disciplinary Code, the Board imposed a USD 50,000 fine and mandated Libya to play their next two official home matches behind closed doors.

Benin’s Football Federation was charged with non-cooperation, breaching Article 45 of the CAF Disciplinary Code during their qualifier against Rwanda.
The Board imposed a USD 5,000 fine for this violation.
Furthermore, Benin was fined an additional USD 50,000—USD 25,000 of which is suspended—for misconduct by officials following the match.
CS Sfaxien (Tunisia) faced penalties for fan misconduct during their TotalEnergies Confederation Cup fixture against CS Constantine (Algeria) on November 27, 2024.
Fans allegedly threw pyrotechnic devices, resulting in a USD 20,000 fine, with USD 10,000 suspended for 12 months.
The Disciplinary Board ruled on a complaint filed by the Guinean Football Federation concerning match No. 143 between Tanzania and Guinea on November 19, 2024.
The Board found the complaint admissible but ultimately rejected it, maintaining the result.
USM Alger (Algeria) was sanctioned after fans used smoke bombs during their Confederation Cup match against Orapa United (Botswana) on November 27, 2024.
A USD 10,000 fine was imposed, with USD 5,000 suspended for 12 months.
CR Belouizdad (Algeria) received a USD 10,000 fine, half of which is suspended for 12 months, for smoke bomb usage by fans during their Champions League match against Orlando Pirates (South Africa) on November 26, 2024.
AS FAR (Morocco) was fined USD 5,000 for smoke bomb use by fans during their Champions League game against Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) on December 7, 2024. Additionally, a USD 10,000 fine was imposed for the use of lasers by supporters during the match.
