Cameroon national team coach Hugo Broos is expecting only one of the players he invited for the World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria to join the team in Yaoundé.
According to camfoot.com, the last player that will join the Indomitable Lions is Seattle Sounders left back, Nouhou Tolo, who has yet to report for international duty because he was in action for the American club on Monday morning.
Porto star, Vincent Aboubakar and Stoke City new recruit, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting are among the 22 players in camp.
The Indomitable Lions workout yesterday at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé was closed to the public and press.
Although Broos acknowledges that the team faces an uphill task of beating the Super Eagles in a 2018 World Cup qualifier in Uyo, he thinks the task is achievable.
Cameroon will be desperate for a point in a bid to at least keep their World Cup dream alive as they battle a Super Eagles that are top of group B on six points against Lions’ two points from two matches.
Although he believers they could upset the odds, Broos, however, charged his team to pick at least four points from the two-leg.
“These are two important matches. And even after that, there will be Zambia and Algeria, four important games,” he continued.
“If we still have the chance to qualify, we must take at least four points out of six against Nigeria.
“If that is not the case, I think it will not be possible to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. It will become very difficult.”
Commenting on the recent crisis in the FA (FECAFOOT), the Belgian tactician said: “I was surprised by the events of the last few days in Cameroun. I do not have a comment because it does not concern me.
“I am here for both games against Nigeria. I hope that these events will not disrupt or influence these two games.”
