CBN Dep Gov, Others Harp On Networking

The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mrs. Aisha Ahmad, has urged young female workers in financial institutions to leverage on networking to boost their efficiency.

Ahmad who was a panelist alongside the Chairman of First Bank, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, and the Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank, Mrs. Bolanle Shola, at the Nigeria Investment Conference, themed: “Let’s Measure Up”, urged that networking should be a lifestyle.

The deputy Governor admitted that women experienced gender inequality in carrying out their duties, but advised that they should raise their bar and prove their worth.

“Men value relationship, they share time with each other to network, but we (women) do think we do not have the time to network.

“Also, the issue of chemistry; when a man meets another man, the network may go smoothly, but when a man and woman meet, there may be another thought,” she said.

On her part, Mrs. Awosika revealed that while growing up she decided not to pay bribe or engage in sexual intercourse to get a job, but rather built a relationship void of immorality that fetched her favour
