Chaos As Unknown Student Smashes Bottle, Makes Away With Ballot Box During OAU SU Election

There was chaos at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), on Wednesday evening as an unknown student, whose identity remains unknown, stormed a polling station, smashed a bottle, and made away with a ballot box during the institution’s Students’ Union election.

Osun Defender gathered that the incident occurred at the Faculty of Law polling units at 5pm, causing pandemonium and disruption to the Students’ Union election process.

 

Eyewitnesses said that the student, who was seen wearing a black hoodie, approached the polling station, smashed a bottle on the ground, and grabbed the ballot box containing cast ballots. The student thereafter was said to have fled the scene immediately, leaving behind a trail of shattered glass and stunned students.

The incident has sparked outrage and concern among the student body, with many calling for increased security measures to ensure the safety of the election process.

It was however learnt that the security officials of the university’s are now on alert to nab those behind the incident.
