Chaos at Lagos CBT Centre As JAMB Mock Exam Delayed For Over 8 Hours

Chaos ensued on Thursday at the CMS Grammar School CBT Centre in Bariga, Lagos, as candidates for the 2025 JAMB mock exam were left stranded for over eight hours.

Despite being instructed to report at 6:30 a.m., many were left waiting without clear communication from officials, resulting in frustration and confusion.

Parents and candidates expressed their anger over the lack of coordination, with some students not having breakfast while waiting for hours.

The mock exam, introduced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), aims to prepare candidates for the main UTME by familiarising them with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment.

However, at the Lagos centre, the event quickly descended into disarray, with candidates left unattended and many complaining of fatigue and hunger.

“The problem is that there is no communication from the officials. We’ve been here since 5 a.m., and now it’s after 2 p.m.,” another parent lamented.

JAMB had initially promised a smooth process and technical upgrades to enhance the exam experience.
