Chelsea Star Enjoys Family Time During His International Break

Cesc Fabregas has been using the international break to spend some quality time with his family ahead of Chelsea’s final push for the title.

With Cobham virtually devoid of first-team players over the international break those not called on by their countries have been left to their own devices.

Some, such as club captain John Terry, decided to jet off for some sun. Terry has been seen relaxing in the pool and playing golf in Portugal while David Luiz went more low-key, just dining out with friends.

Fabregas has been working on his game and staying fit. He has been exercising at an outdoor gym and training with the squad’s remaining players but mostly the 29-year-old has been using the extended break to spend time with his young daughters.

Over the last few days the Chelsea midfielder has shared pictures and videos of various father-daughter activities. Fabregas has taken his young girls cycling in Hyde Park, to the cinema and enjoyed cuddles in bed.

Now, with the majority of the Chelsea squad returning after Tuesday’s last round of international friendlies, Fabregas has taken eldest Lia for a drive in his £60,000 Range Rover Sport.

Fabregas posted his latest Instagram snap with Lia sat on the bonnet of the car wearing a black cap to match her dad alongside the caption ‘Sharing moments’.

The extra family time came after Spain boss Julen Lopetegui opted against including Fabregas in his squad. Lopetegui explained he wanted midfielders with ‘more presence’ in the national team.

The 29-year-old was snubbed for the last international break in November and missed out once again for Spain’s World Cup qualifying win over against Israel and their friendly with France on Tuesday.

Lopetegui has handed Real Sociedad’s uncapped midfielder Asier Illarramendi a place in his squad but has stressed the door is not closed for Fabregas to return.

‘It’s true that Cesc is playing more minutes in his team and it’s true that we’ve also thought about his inclusion, we had Cesc in our minds,’ said Lopetegui.

‘It’s not easy to finalise the list, there are a lot of players on the pre-list which we like, but in the end we’ve finalised the squad with the players we feel have to have more presence with us.’
