Chinese Billionaire Fears For Global Education, Says Current System “Too Old”

“If We Don’t Change How We Teach Our Children Now, We Will Be In Trouble In The Next 30 Years”

A Chinese Billionaire and Entrepreneur, Jack Ma (Ma Yun) has made a case for changing the face of education the world over by introducing modern teaching trends.

The former English Teacher while speaking at the 2018 World Economic Forum on Wednesday said trouble looms for the world if the issue of proper education is not addressed.

Ma who said young children nowadays are smarter than the ones born 5/6 decades ago noted that the kind of education given to children is an out-of-fashion style developed over 2 centuries ago.

He stressed the need for the advancement of education trends to suit the taste of the new generation.

Ma noted that “Education is a big challenge now. If we do not change the way we teach, 20 years from now we will be in trouble. The way we teach- the things we teach our kids, are the things from the past 200 years. It is knowledge based and we cannot teach our kids to compete with machines. They are smarter, we have to teach something unique, so that a machine can never catch up with us.”
