Cleaner Dies After Collapsing At TVS Nigeria, Left Unattended For Hours
A cleaner, Kemi Anibaba, working with Wandel International Ltd./TVS Nigeria, has died after collapsing at the company’s premises in Ogba, Lagos, and being left unattended for over two hours.
She reportedly resumed duty around 6:00 a.m. on Thursday but slumped barely an hour later. Eyewitnesses told SaharaReporters that no medical help was provided and the company made no effort to rush her to a hospital.
“Yesterday (Thursday morning), the woman, a cleaner, slumped while she was working and the management refused to take her to the hospital. Nobody gave her anything, no medication. This is because she was just a low-rated staff member. This was why they did not care about her,” one of the eyewitnesses said.
Another source claimed that the company did not inform her family on time. “They abandoned her and they did not call her family for over two hours. So they later called her only daughter who came to pick her up and rushed her to the hospital. A few minutes after they reached the hospital, the doctor told them that it was already late. And the doctor blamed them for not rushing her to the hospital immediately.”

Footage seen by SaharaReporters showed that Kemi was still alive when she collapsed around 7:00 a.m., but no medical attention was provided.
“The woman in the video resumed work around 6:00 AM. She collapsed around 7:00 AM while on duty. In the video, you can clearly see she was still breathing at the time, so she was still alive and could possibly have been saved,” the witness said.
“She could have been saved if help had come in time, but instead of an immediate medical response, the company allegedly tried to cover it up.”
“She was left there without help, and eventually, she passed away. Instead of raising an alarm or calling for emergency services, they hid her body inside the premises and didn’t move it until after 10:00 AM,” the eyewitness added.
According to multiple eyewitnesses, the company made no formal report and has not contacted the deceased’s family. There are also allegations of a cover-up.
Videos obtained showed her motionless body left unattended, and later being carried by her daughter into a commercial tricycle without any assistance from company staff.
Efforts by SaharaReporters to get a response from Wandel International Ltd/TVS Nigeria have so far been unsuccessful.
Calls to the company’s internal security officer, Okwus Sunny, went unanswered, and he has not responded to text messages.
