Cleric Urges Youths Not To Risk Lifes In Protest

The pastor in charge of RCCG Youth Province 12, Osogbo, Osun State, Bola Soyinka, has urged Nigerians not to risk their lives in protesting against economic hardship in the country.

The pastor said there are other effective means people can show their grievances to the government without endangering their lives.

He made this known on Wednesday during a press briefing for the 2024 ‘Impact Conference’ held at the church auditorium.

Pastor Soyinka noted that the program will focus on helping the youth on Leadership, Business and Social Media.

He added that notable personalities which include the wife of the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Deaconess Olusola Adewusi will be present during the program which will take place on place on the 27th of July.

“The impact Conference is one of the visions God gave to us when we were coming to Oshogbo last year. We thank God that it is Becoming a reality.

“To make an impact is to think about a change. To make impact is to make influence. To make impact is to ignite and recharge

“The Lord said to us. We are to enlighten, educate and, encourage our young ones, to let them take advantage of opportunities open to them in the seven mountains of influence

“These seven mountains of influence are: Politics and Governance, Arts and Entertainment, Media and information, Family, Education, Business and investments and Religion

“You are more than what you know and what you don’t know is more than you. How much you know will determine how far you will go. What you can do will determine if you will be needed or not.

“We are calling the Youths to knowledge, We are calling the Youth to responsibility and to take up their places in the sphere of life. This conference is for all and sundry both young and old, male and female. There is a room called the room for improvement and all of us need to enter this room from time to time.”

On the planned protest, pastor Soyink, said, “How effective have these protests been? The last one was endsars; either we like it or not, some people died, some relocated outside the country, and have things changed?

  1. “There are several ways you can protest and show your grievances, but risking your life isn’t one of them.”
