Comedy Legend, Baba Sala Is Dead

The entertainment industry suffered another blow in the hands of death as it lost another rare African gem and a renowned comedian, actor, drummer, costumologist Elder Moses Olaya Adejumo ( MON) a.k.a. Baba Sala who died on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the age of 84.

It was reliably gathered that the ace comedian, film maker that had competed with the likes of late Chief Hubert Ogunde and Professor Peller died in Ilesa, Osun State, South West Nigeria after a brief age-related illness.

With not less than 30 evergreen records produced by him, he married about 18 wives due to his professional callings to get actors to act with him with about 50 children out of which about 6 of them taking after him.

The late comedian started his art career at a very tender age. This, he explained during his lifetime connected him to the likes of late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, late Chief JMJ Johnson, late Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land, Azeez Arisekola, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to mention a few of them.

It was to his credit that he mentored many artistes into stardom among entertainment industry like King of World Beat, Otunba Sunday Ishola Adeniyi Adegeye a.k.a. Sunny Ade at a time when technology and modernity has not changed acting from stage play which was alarinjo theater like to video films. Even, in the advent of modern arts like Nollywood, he played prominent role in film making until the disastrous episode of stealing his film, “Orun moru”

Though abandoned by professional artistes at old age, late Elder Adejumo devoted his life to the service in the vineyard as a Senior Apostle of Seraphim and Cherubim church in Idasa, Ilesa as stage plays became outdated stage actors also became outdated with video recorders at home, films can be watched at home.

The late comedian also has a small hotel while his children are helping him to complement with his sources of living until his demise.
