In continuation of the bid to make life conducive for the dwellers of Olorunda North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the caretaker management team of the council under the leadership of Honourable Quadri Owonikoko has embarked on massive grading of roads in the council.
This is just as the council management committee has completed the construction of Phase I of the Ultra-modern Secretariat in Ota -Efun.
The flag off of the grading which commenced last year started in Larotimeyin Housing Estate in Olude, Osogbo, and covered Lagunle to Oke-ore road, Femiti to Igbokiti boundary, Idi-emi to Alapata, Aiwosu to Olose road in Papa, Gbodo to Modogbon, Aderohunmu to Owala Dam, all in Oba-Oke, all roads in Dagbolu community, Kobo to Kelebe.
A statement issued by the Information Officer of the council, Mrs Toyin Adejobi read that all the roads have been completed, adding that efforts were in progress for the continuation of the grading exercise to cater for the other communities in the LCDA.
The Executive Secretary of the council, Quadri Owonikoko said the massive grading of roads was in fulfilment of his promise to boost commercial activities and bring the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of his people.
According to him, the grading of the roads was just a tip of an iceberg, assuring that more of the requests of the people in the council area would be met.
He however appealed to the people to continue to peacefully coexist as it would also enhance development of the area.
Urging the people of the council to support the government of the day in its policy and programmes, he said prompt payment of taxes and levies would hasten the development that the government was committed to in all ramifications.
